How are transport routes and distances computed?
Transport routes are computed over the drawn aisle network, not as straight lines. For every source-sink relation the shortest drivable way is found.
The distance follows from the scale of the hall plan. From it come transport effort, average distance and total distance driven.
Common questions
Is the straight line used?
No. What is computed is the shortest way over the aisles that exist. The result is a route length, not a travel time.
What happens when there is no transport route?
The relation is reported as not routable. That is how you spot missing connections or wrongly assigned places.
Can I work in feet instead of metres?
Yes. Lengths and areas can be switched between metres and feet without changing the result of the calculation.
